COMPOSERS WORKSHOP

Composers often work in relative isolation, without a chance to discuss their work with others, or to re-examine the principles that guide their creativity.  The Composers Workshop offers the opportunity to work with Alice Parker and a small non-judgmental group of colleagues, score reading, analyzing, discussing techniques, and posing questions about the many different facets of their profession.  The focus is on setting texts and writing for voices, through daily assignments and discussions.

Housing is available at Singing Brook Farm for Sunday through Friday nights.   Cost for housing is $300.

Applicants should plan to arrive in time for dinner on Sunday, Oct. 6 since

classes will begin 9:00 a.m. on Monday morning.   Classes end on Friday afternoon so departure may be planned for Saturday morning.

Transportation to and from the train at Springfield, MA or the airport at Hartford, CT will be supplied for arrivals on Sunday afternoon and departures on the Saturday morning.  Please contact Kay Holt to make specific arrangements. 

Minimum class size 4, maximum 8.
